My Philosophy
Learning is one of the great joys in my life. I love hearing the stories of my students when they come to class and tell about an experience when they spoke Spanish during the week, knowing that they communicated with another person in a different language. Although my students learn to read and write in Spanish, our main focus is to speak Spanish. I strongly encourage my students to move away from the notion of perfection in fluency so they can overcome their fears of making mistakes. Just as they are patient with others learning English, so others are patient with them when learning and speaking Spanish.

What My Students Are Saying
Upcoming Classes
Connect More Deeply
Language is how we connect with each other and with the world around us. Not only do we engage with each other in class, but also outside of class when we connect with a Spanish-speaker in the market place of life: at work, on medical mission trips, while shopping, at a restaurant, anywhere—we reach out to others in the most basic way—language.
Serve Your Community
Begin communication with Spanish-speaking patients. Even the most basic conversation and simple diagnostic phrases can put a patient at ease in an unfamiliar setting.
Make it Personal
Some students prefer one-on-one instruction or one-on-two instruction in order to specifically address their learning style, pace, schedules or needs.
This 10 week course is designed for those who have gone through several levels of Medical Spanish. Students are familiar with medical vocabulary, common phrases and are using present and past tense verbs in conversation. In this class, we will review all of these skills and strengthen your comfort in conversing with patients.
